About the Role

Are you a visionary technology leader ready to shape the future of enterprise architecture and digital transformation? We’re seeking a dynamic General Manager for Technology Strategy & Architecture to drive innovation, simplification, and strategic alignment across our Digital & Technology (D&T) domains and programs.

As the owner of Technical Architecture, you will lead the design and governance of enterprise-wide technology architecture—including frameworks, strategy, and capabilities. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions through effective collaboration with internal and external suppliers and optimal resource planning.

Reporting to the Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO), your leadership will enable innovation, operational excellence, and long-term business value.This plays a critical role in guiding, enabling, and directing successful delivery of transformative programs for SRG.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Strategic Technology Direction: Provide expert guidance to ensure D&T programs align with the overarching D&T Strategy and Future State Architecture (FSA).

- Technology Planning, Delivery & Management: Oversee planning and execution across all domains and strategic programs and ensure effective tech resource planning (people, tools, platforms).

- Technology Simplification & Optimisation: Lead analysis and execution of technology simplification and cost optimisation initiatives.

- Enterprise Technology Architecture (ETA): Establish and govern a CoE for ETA in line with SRG requirements and drive the development of Future State Architecture and transition roadmaps.

About you

We’re looking for a visionary technology leader with a strong track record in enterprise architecture, driving strategic transformation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical and business acumen, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and drive strategic outcomes.

In addition, you have:

- Proven track record in managing complex vendor ecosystems and delivering large-scale transformation initiatives.

- Deep understanding of technology planning, vendor management, and cost optimisation.

- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including executive-level communication.

- Demonstrated passion for emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to drive operational efficiency, customer experience, or strategic insights.

- Experience in the retail sector or similar industries is highly desirable.
