Job Description
The Waalitj Foundation has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Program Manager to join the Deadly Sista Girlz Team and create positive change for First Nations Australian young women. This is a full‑time, fixed term position until December 2027, located in our East Victoria Park Office.
About the Position:
The Program Manager is responsible for leading the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of the Deadly Sista Girlz Program that supports female First Nations Australian students, ensuring culturally responsive practices are embedded across student support initiatives, with a focus on improving engagement, retention, and academic success.
The Program Manager provides leadership to the DSG Student Support Officer, DSG Program Mentor and other team members across various school locations, across Western Australia and Victoria, fostering a culturally safe and inclusive learning environment.

To be suitable for this role you will need to demonstrate the following work‑related requirements and experience:
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in program management, preferably in education or community services.
- Proven leadership skills, including staff supervision and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong understanding of the barriers affecting First Nations Australian female students and strategies to address them.
- High‑level analytical skills, including experience with data‑driven program evaluation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, social work, community development, or a related field.
- Knowledge of local First Nations Australian communities and support networks.
- Experience working in culturally diverse or educational settings.
