Are you passionate about walking alongside people on their healing journey?
AWAHS is looking for a compassionate, community minded AOD Support Worker to join our team and help create positive, generational change

Does this sound like you?

You are someone who cares deeply about people, understands the challenges of AOD use, and can engage respectfully with the local Aboriginal community

You have a formal qualification and relevant experience in this field. Any lived experience you may have, while not essential, will be considered.

Your strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others makes you a valuable member of the team

Always supporting clients with alcohol and other drug challenges through respectful engagement, practical assistance, and strength-based interventions

Helping to empower people to control of their health, reconnect with culture, and build safer, healthier futures for themselves and their families

In this role you will:

- Provide compassionate, client-focused support, guiding people through assessment, referral, and follow up
- Deliver outreach and recovery-focused interventions that meet clients where they are at
- Collaborate with the SEWB team, community partners, and services to achieve real outcomes
- Support community education, awareness, and prevention programs.
- Commit to strengthening community wellbeing and empowering people for long term change
