The Walkerville Foreshore Reserve Committee Incorporated is a voluntary committee responsible for managing approximately 41 hectares of coastal foreshore at Walkerville.

These areas of Crown land have long been used for active and passive recreation, including a caravan park, kiosk, public hall, toilets, walking track, picnic facilities and boat launching facilities.

About the role

The Walkerville Foreshore Reserve Committee Incorporated comprises of between three and nine members who bring together a variety of skills and experiences, usually locally based and have a keen interest in the reserve.

- A committee of management may:
- Undertake maintenance works and improvements
- Enter into licence, lease or other tenure agreements
- Collect rental and fees for use of the reserve
- Expend funds on the reserve
- Establish volunteer groups, or employ people, to assist with managing the reserve
- Make regulations for the use of the reserve
- Take legal proceedings where necessary

The term of appointment is for three years commencing the middle of November 2025. Committee meetings are typically held monthly.

These positions provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future protection, management and planning of the Coastal Reserve’s future.

The Committee wishes to attract people who value the diversity of Victoria’s communities. To ensure the best possible management of the Reserve, to work with other public land managers and to participate in planning of the Coastal Reserve’s future, applicants will be shortlisted based on their skills, experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

- Secretarial and Administration Skills
- Business and Strategic Planning
- Marketing, Tourism and Media
- Community Engagement
- Stakeholder Management
- Project Management
- Building & Asset Management
- Environmental & Coastal Biodiversity Conservation
- Indigenous Values and Cultural Heritage

Other desired skills and knowledge may include public sector governance, insurance, risk, and a knowledge of natural local environment.
