Overview

Aspirante is working with a local government department to assist in their search for a highly skilled Test Engineer / Analyst to join a major transformation program modernising critical business systems. This role will see you working across multiple concurrent projects, validating complex processes, ensuring data integrity, and providing assurance of solution quality. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, developers, and project teams to design and execute test cases, automate testing, and support release readiness. This is a hands-on role that requires both technical expertise and strong communication skills in a regulated environment.

Contract details

- 9 Month contract with likely extension
- Paying up to $962 per day
- 2 days per week in office (Brisbane CBD)

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and the Test Manager to align testing activities with project goals.
- Design, execute, and document both manual and automated test cases.
- Perform data-level validation and support regression testing.
- Manage defects through logging, tracking, and resolution in ADO or similar tools.
- Provide assurance of release readiness and maintain compliance documentation.
- Test spatial data integrity, geoprocessing tools, and map services.
- Use platforms such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal.

Skills & Experience

- 5+ years’ experience testing within large and complex IT environments.
- Strong skills in manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks, CI/CD, and data integrity validation.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for test tracking and documentation.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services (APIM) and Confluent Kafka.
- Background in spatial data systems or geospatial technologies (desirable).
- Professional QA/Testing qualifications or Agile certifications (desirable).
