Purpose of the role: Passenger Services Agile Release Train (ART) is a set of software engineering teams aiming at delivering the best experience to airlines' customers when they travel, from check-in to boarding. Our software as a service solution is used by 150+ airlines worldwide.
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is the project manager in charge of the efficient delivery through SAFe methodology: They are a servant leader; they support and coach the train members to accomplish the train's mission. The RTE's major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value.
Overall, the main purpose of the RTE is to create more flow of value through the ART.
They facilitate the train ceremonies and is the guardian of the SAFe train artifacts; communicates with stakeholders, escalates impediments, helps manage risks, and strives to improve this all in a robust way, relentlessly.
Responsibilities:

• Ensure deliveries as planned, availability and transparency of the train's SAFe tasks.
- Manages and optimizes the flow of value through the release train;
- Assists tracking the execution of features and capabilities
- Budget definition and dispatch, implementation of the lean budgeting
- Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
- Track and communicate key ART execution metrics

• Facilitate Agile Release Train events
- Ensure Alignment by organizing & facilitating Program Increment Planning Events
- Facilitates System Demos and Solution Demos
- Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
- Is the master of ceremonies at train level.
- Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices
- Summarizes Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publishes them for visibility and transparency

• Ensure Quality of delivery, and leverage customer feed-back
- Works with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners and stakeholders to help ensure strategy and
execution alignment
- Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a
Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings.
- Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings

• Manage risks and dependencies

• Coach the agile practices and support the SAFe methodology
The RTE is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train and:
- Is a key change agent.
- Creates an environment of mutual influence, encourages personal development and supports the commitment
made by the train.
- Listens and supports people on problem identification and decision making.
- Is responsible for implementing SAFE model best practices by federating & coaching train stakeholders on
adopting Agile mind-set.
- Coaches leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
- Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering
Candidate Profile:
University Degree in IT or equivalent work experience
5+ years experience in project management of large projects
Experience in Agile/Scrum methods, especially SAFe and related tools
General knowledge of Amadeus fundamentals: history, business, offerings, strategy, technology and organization.
