The Graduate Program
Our dedicated graduate program provides structured support so you can confidently transition into life as a first-year clinician and extend the skills you worked hard to develop at university. Our innovative service model focuses on delivering the best clinical outcomes for clients. As a Graduate Occupational Therapist with Empower, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients ranging in age with various needs and goals. The work that we do is truly meaningful and our goal is to make a difference in people’s lives and help improve their independence, safety and wellbeing in their own environment. We provide a graded caseload so you have time to develop skills in one area at a time.
As a member of the Empower Graduate Program you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to flourish in your career. Our program includes:
- Fun filled Induction and Orientation Program – a structured orientation plan including shadowing our senior clinicians to get you started
- Graduate GROWTH Plan – set a clear plan of what you want to get out of the program
- Comprehensive 6‑Week Induction program to ease the transition from student to graduate
- A structured clinical development program that supports you to develop skills and expand your scope of practice in areas such as Assistive Technology Prescription, Home Modifications, Aged Care and NDIS
- Regular 1:1 Mentoring
- Monthly online professional development courses and clinical development workshops to put these skills to practice
- Access to a wide range of online courses through the learning management system
- A $1500 external professional development fund

You will have an enthusiastic and proactive attitude, be outcome focused and dedicated to delivering an exceptional service to our clients. You must have:
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
- Pending registration with AHPRA
- Police check clearance
- Valid driver’s licence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time‑management skills and attention to detail
- Passion to support people to live their lives the way they want to
