Council of the City of Sydney, Australia Pedestrian Group Full time

Overview

Volunteer with us for Story Week 2025

Do you have a passion for writing and poetry – and a love of live literary events? We’re seeking volunteers to help us stage our 2025 Story Week program and the Australian Poetry Slam (APS) Finals (16 to 26 October 2025).

Working in a friendly and supportive environment, our volunteers gain new and valuable skills, get a behind-the-scenes look at delivering a literary event, meet like-minded people – and, most of all, have an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to watch a wide variety of Story Week events for free whilst undertaking duties, and will receive a brand new Word Travels t-shirt to wear whilst representing the organisation and keep as a memento after the festival.

We are recruiting volunteers across various roles (including ushering for events, customer service, artist liaison, and production support) to join our team in Sydney during Story Week. We are looking for volunteers to commit to a minimum of two shifts over the period of 17 to 26 October 2025. We also have limited volunteer opportunities for the Queensland (16 October) APS Finals.

To apply, please complete the form at the link below and remember to email us your CV and a paragraph or two about why you’d love to volunteer and be part of Story Week 2025.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. We look forward to having you on our volunteer team.
