PositionProfile The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) is seeking an experienced Manager – Works Procurement and Contracts to join our team in a newly created role. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a collaborative and values-driven team and support the delivery of world-class healthcare for Western Australia’s children and families. Reporting to the Director, Procurement and Contract Management, you will oversee the strategic planning and delivery of preventative and reactive maintenance contracts across CAHS including Perth Children’s Hospital, Neonatology, and our Community Health, and Mental Health Service locations, and work partnership with senior leaders, infrastructure and facilities management teams and the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (HSS) to ensure service continuity and operational excellence. You will manage complex, high-value, and high-risk contracts, ensuring alignment with the Western Australian Procurement Rules, operational needs, and the governance standards of the WA Health System. Your expertise in compliance, governance, and risk mitigation in a procurement context, together with your ability to build effective working relationships at all levels, will be key to success in this role and in advancing reform and continuous improvement initiatives across CAHS. Key responsibilities include: - Leading and managing end-to-end procurement and contract management for works, maintenance, and service contracts across hospital and community settings, managing competing priorities while ensuring governance, probity, and value for money. - Providing strategic leadership to a team of procurement and contract professionals, fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and performance. - Developing and implementing best practice frameworks for contract management, performance monitoring, and governance reporting. - Overseeing contract extensions, variations, performance reviews, and compliance audits. - Advising stakeholders on procurement planning, market approaches, and sourcing strategies—whether through Common Use Arrangements, Whole of Health, or bespoke contracts. - Supporting CAHS-wide business improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and innovation in procurement processes. - Collaborating with Infrastructure and Facilities Management to manage high-value contracts (e.g. electrical, maintenance, refurbishment, or community health works). - Leading reporting and compliance functions, including Office of the Auditor General and general audit requirements. If you are a solutions-focused procurement leader who thrives in a complex operational environment with significant experience in procurement, contract management, and stakeholder engagement, ideally within a large public sector, infrastructure we encourage you to apply. Experience in health sector or live hospital environments is of benefit but not required.
