Are you an experienced communications professional ready to lead the public engagement strategy for a high-profile infrastructure project? This is your opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of transport in Queensland.
We are seeking a Senior Communications Advisor to join a dynamic and collaborative team in Buderim for a significant three-year transport infrastructure project. This role will be central in driving strategic communications, fostering positive community relationships, and ensuring the public is informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
About the Role:
As the Senior Communications Advisor, you will:
- Develop and execute a strategic communications plan aligned with project objectives and milestones.
- Lead community engagement efforts, including public consultations, ensuring community concerns are addressed effectively.
- Create clear and compelling content across platforms, including media releases, social media, newsletters, and updates.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and government bodies to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely project communication.
- Prepare high-quality briefing materials, speeches, and presentations for senior executives and stakeholders.
- Monitor media coverage, public sentiment, and industry trends to inform proactive communications strategies.
- Manage crisis communications and issues resolution, providing prompt and effective responses.
- Offer expert advice to senior leadership on communication and engagement matters.
- Evaluate and report on communication and engagement outcomes.
- Ensure all communication activities meet legal, ethical, and organisational standards.
- Mentor and support other communications professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
About You
Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in communications and community engagement, preferably in infrastructure, construction, or government sectors.
- IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) Certification or willingness to obtain it independently.
Desirable Requirements:
- A current Class 'C' Driver's Licence.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing.
- Proven success in delivering communication and engagement strategies.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Understanding of Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) frameworks.
