Cyber Security Engineering Specialist
Leading telco client (consulting through FinXL)

Take the lead on enterprise-level security and steer a critical transformation for one of Australia's top telcos. FinXL is seeking a Cyber Security Engineering Specialist to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading telco client on a key transformation engagement.

Responsibilities

- Lead the design, deployment, and management of Fortinet NDR solutions.

- Administer and optimise Cisco ISE for network access control and policy enforcement.

- Design and maintain secure network architectures, including LAN/WAN and firewalls.

- Conduct threat analysis, incident response, and forensic investigations.

- Collaborate with teams to ensure security compliance and risk mitigation.

- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.

- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior security staff.

Key Skills & Experience

- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a senior role.

- Proven experience with Fortinet NDR and Cisco ISE in enterprise environments.

- Strong understanding of networking protocols, routing/switching, and telco infrastructure.

- Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.

- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Relevant certifications (Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNP Security, CISSP) are highly desirable.
