Overview

OSR Group Pty Ltd t/a Windsor Function Centre is seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in preparing a variety of cuisines, maintaining high food quality and presentation standards, and ensuring a clean, safe kitchen environment. You will be responsible for planning menus, managing inventory, and working closely with kitchen staff to deliver excellent dining experiences.

Responsibilities

- Preparing for service, including ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and marinating food.
- Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen. Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety is met at all times.
- Creating new dishes and planning menus in consultation with managers. Estimating final costs applicable to any events.
- Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Hiring and training junior chefs.

Qualifications & Experience

- Certificate III- IV in Commercial Cookery preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
- Good and effective communication skills to pass ideas across to kitchen staff and understand what customers want.
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate activities in pressuring situations.
- Good time management skills to complete tasks and meet targets.
- Creativity and proactivity in attending to various customer needs.
- Knowledge of food handling and environmental sanitation standards.
- Any other form of certification in catering would be an added advantage.

Salary: $76,500-85,000
