Lead Solutions Engineer

Overview

The Opportunity: Our Digital Buildings business creates integrated, multi-layered solutions that specialise in combining building services and intelligent automated systems. Our solutions enable owners, end users and custodians (such as Commercial buildings, Hospitals and Data Centers) to monitor, meter and control the attributes of their assets in real time, reducing consumption and improving reliability and quality.

The primary role of the LSE is to drive quality and consistency of technical engineered solutions for the region via creation and deployment of engineering standards and templates, as part of the Engineering Efficiency Programme (EEP) initiatives and across our existing and new customer portfolios. The LSE will be the customer’s trusted adviser related to all engineered solutions from HVAC and a building-wide perspective.

Day to Day Responsibilities

- The LSE will be expected to have a strong understanding of application knowledge specific to different segments and be regarded as an industry thought leader.
- The LSE will be the technical owner and approver (functional descriptions, LAN schematics, points lists, schedules) of design from concept to fulfillment. They will need to understand industry best practices from both HVAC and technology perspectives.
- The LSE must have strong presentation and communication skills and will deliver presentations and training, primarily to internal parties.
- The LSE is responsible for all communications to the region about the EEP and all initiatives, including feedback from operational staff to the EEP council.
- The LSE will prioritise customer satisfaction and engineering quality, supporting local resources during a project lifecycle from sales to delivery with approval signoffs of all engineering solutions (preliminary and detailed design). (For Construction Sign off)
- The LSE should periodically attend monthly project reviews to ensure EEP adherence.
- The role will frequently undertake market research and reconnaissance to ensure solutions and tools remain relevant and competitive.
- The LSE will also be directly involved in the delivery of projects.

The secondary role of the LSE is to provide technical support and guidance for the region to all functions (Engineering/Service/Sales) for all EEP initiatives and any application knowledge.

Qualifications and About You

We don’t want to narrow the field; however, the skills needed to be successful in this role include:

- Several years of related work experience with application knowledge
- Excellent influencing, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Relevant experience in systems and service environments; sales exposure is desired but not essential
- Engineering and project management skills
- Proven track record in project engineering with integrated systems and HVAC application knowledge
- Experience in providing training; certificate 3 preferred
- Strong PC skills in Excel, Word and Office
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Sound organisation and time-management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
