What does a Graduate Transport Engineer do?

As a graduate Transport Engineer, you can expect a dynamic and varied day. You'll be involved in all stages of project lifecycles, working on both small and large projects. Your tasks may include:

- Preparation of transport impact assessments and reports (TIAR's)

- Engaging in diverse engineering design tasks, including creating drawings, reports, presentations, and regulatory applications.

- Designing road, intersection, and parking layouts in MicroStation.

- Developing designs through sketches, electronic models, and diagrams, and preparing documentation for various engineering phases.

- Performing calculations, spreadsheet assessments, and intersection analysis using SIDRA Intersection.

- Collecting and analyzing data, such as traffic, parking, and crash data, using tools like Excel and PowerBI.

- Communicating with clients and maintaining ongoing contact.

- Adhering to Stantec Core Values and Quality, Safety & Environment Systems.

- Developing proposals and bids to support business development.

- Conducting site surveys, investigations, and feasibility studies, sometimes outside regular hours.

- Minimizing and controlling risk through commitment to health and safety programs and project management systems.

About You

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil), Urban Planning or equivelant.

- Passion for learning and problem-solving

- Eligible to work in Australia

- Currently in final year of degree or 1-2 years post graduation
