What does a Graduate Transport Engineer do?

You will be involved in all project stages, working on diverse projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing transport impact assessments and reports (TIARs)
  • Engaging in engineering design tasks such as creating drawings, reports, and regulatory documents
  • Designing road, intersection, and parking layouts using MicroStation
  • Developing designs through sketches, models, and diagrams, and preparing documentation
  • Performing calculations and analyses using SIDRA Intersection
  • Collecting and analyzing traffic, parking, and crash data with tools like Excel and PowerBI
  • Communicating with clients and maintaining contact
  • Adhering to Stantec's core values and safety standards
  • Supporting business development through proposals and bids
  • Conducting site surveys and feasibility studies, sometimes outside regular hours
  • Managing risks through health and safety programs

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or equivalent
  • Passion for learning and problem-solving
  • Eligible to work in Australia
  • Final year of degree or 1-2 years post-graduation
