## Overview:* **Full-time, Continuing position*** **Salary Academic Level B ($115,303 - $136,925) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements*** **Based at the Melbourne CBD campus****About the Role**The Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School of Design, in disciplines related to their field of expertise. More specifically, the Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate program, Bachelor of Graphic Design, as well as teach within the Communication Design postgraduate programs. Expertise in Human-centred Design, Service Design, UX Design and/or Information/Interaction/Experience Design would be an advantage. The Lecturer is expected to continually maintain and advance their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. The Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities.To be successful for this position, you’ll have:* Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.* Ability to undertake course coordination role.* Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.* Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.* Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.*Please view position description for further selection criteria***Qualifications****Mandatory:** Hold a PhD in relevant field.**Special Measures**RMIT is committed in driving progression towards gender equality and ensuring the diversity in our organisation is balanced at every level.Section 12 of the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act permits the University to conduct female only recruitment in addressing the substantive imbalance of female representation in Science, Engineering and Business, IT and Logistics schools.
