Specific Position Details

- Start Date: November 17, 2025

- End Date: June 26, 2026

- Location: Hughenden Public, Hughenden, AB

- Subject Areas: Grade 7-9 Science, CALM 20 (Semester 1), Science 10 (Semester 2) and CTF 7

- Contract Type: Temporary

- FTE: 1.0

Specific Position Duties

- A science background is considered a strong asset

- Promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and student engagement through hands‑on and concept‑based learning

- Willingness to coach school athletics or lead extracurricular programs to enhance student engagement and contribute to the overall school community

Qualifications and General Duties

- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

- Experience working with Google Suite

- Shall be a dynamic student-centered educator committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment

- Experience and/or training in the application of Assessment for Learning strategies, embedded formative assessment, and varied summative assessments is essential

- Possess strong background in the use of technology to enhance student learning

- Ability to create a positive learning environment and foster positive professional relationships with students

- Is dependable with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a team setting

- Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional growth and continually increasing effectiveness as an educator

- A willingness to participate in extracurricular activities would be considered an asset
