Overview

The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Councils in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 385,000 residents.

The Role

As a Library Team member, you will participate in the day-to-day activities and operations of the library to meet customer needs and promote library services within the community. Evening shifts are required. This is a permanent full-time position based at Padstow Library and Knowledge Centre. Uniform will be provided.

Duties

- Deliver high quality customer focused and professional service and help maintain a positive Library environment.

- Assist and deliver the library programs and activities and promote library services and resources to the community.

- Actively participate in the development and implementation of the team’s business plans.

- Support the team to ensure daily operational requirements are met.

- Help maintain library collections to meet the needs of the community.

- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated with current professional practices.

You will have

- Eligible for membership of Australian Library and Information Association or experience relevant to the duties stated.

- Working with Children Check

- Demonstrated strong commitment to delivering quality customer service in a cross-cultural environment.

- Effective communication both written and verbal amongst all stakeholders.

- Ability to prioritise and work collaboratively.

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $71,820 (Grade D Step 1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
