The Role

Eastern Goldfields College seeks to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Program Coordinator – Practical Courses. The successful applicant will ideally possess exceptional interpersonal, organisational and management skills to complement outstanding leadership capabilities in the combined areas of Visual Art, Home Economics, Design and Technology and Physical Education Studies.

The successful applicant should be innovative, dynamic, strategic and proactive. You will ideally have strong interpersonal skills and a passion to raise the profile of Practical Courses Learning Areas by providing relevant and engaging curriculum programs to suit the needs of students ranging from General through to Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) pathways.

The Program Coordinator - Practical Courses will ideally be creative and flexible in exploring alternate and innovative delivery methods. Applicants do not need experience in teaching within all areas but should possess the capacity to transfer skills and be resourceful in using external curriculum experts. Duties will include (but are not limited to); a teaching load, performance management of teaching staff, leading curriculum development, managing financial resources of the learning areas, promoting the learning areas and developing partnerships with our network schools, training providers and Curtin University.

The successful applicant will ideally support the implementation of the school’s Business Plan, work and teach in a team environment, be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives and focused on an evidence-based approach to teaching through data analysis and self-reflection. You should have knowledge and skills to utilise systemic data such as Student Achievement Information System (SAIS) to address individual student learning needs. As the successful applicant, you should actively participate in professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on your classroom practice to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching and ongoing improvement.

Teachers and School Administrators employed atEastern Goldfields Collegein 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of$3 000(pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
