City of Melbourne, Australia Wyndham City Council Full time

Remuneration: Band 3 salary from $38.31 per hour plus superannuation

Location: Werribee RDF - 470 Wests Rd, Werribee VIC 3030

About the role

As a Maintenance & Plant Operator at our Refuse Disposal Facility (RDF) you will join a large, skilled team in the operation of specialist plant and equipment including dozers, compactors, excavators, front end loaders, articulated dump trucks, hook trucks and material handlers as required to undertake efficient and safe operations.

Ideally, you will come with a range of experience and tickets, but we understand you might not have them all. We value your willingness to learn and grow with us – reach out for a chat if you want to confirm your current qualifications align.

You will also help to maintain the plant and equipment that you use including conducting pre-start checks, greasing and regular maintenance and washing/cleaning as well as documenting and reporting equipment defects or damage to minimise downtime.

As the RDF is a public access site, you will direct customers and vehicles on site to ensure efficient and safe access and undertake housekeeping activities around site and facilities to ensure a well‑maintained presentable site.

All of your actions will be in accordance with safety requirements including Job Safety Assessment and Safe Work Method Statements.

What we offer

- Full‑Time Employment: Enjoy constant work through all seasons

- A Great Work Environment: Join a supportive and friendly team

- State‑of‑the‑Art Equipment: Work with the latest dozers, excavators, compactors & ADT

- Training, Development and Career Growth: We are happy to develop your skills, putting you through the necessary courses for further tickets and providing development opportunities

- A Strong Commitment to Safety: We ensure everyone models safe work behaviours and assists in the continuous improvement of a positive safety culture

What you will bring

- Heavy Truck (Victorian) Licence (Highly desirable)

- White Card (Required)

- Competence and appropriate licences and tickets to operate one or more items of plant and equipment including compactor, dozer, excavator, material handler, articulated dump truck or hook truck

If you progress past the interview stage, you may be required to complete pre‑employment screening, which may include police checks, a medical, qualification verification, and an Australian work rights check.
