Following the implementation of Definitiv in 2024, we are seeking an experienced Payroll professional to manage our weekly and fortnightly payroll operations.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with Finance and HR, this standalone role blends hands‑on payroll processing with a strategic and operational focus - ensuring our payroll system is optimised for accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

This is a part‑time role, 2‑3 days per week with flexible hours if required (must be available on Wednesdays). If you have a background in bookkeeping, we can offer additional hours to expand the scope of the role.

About the role

- Process weekly and fortnightly payrolls for 180+ employees across multiple NSW entities.
- Conduct a comprehensive review of our payroll system, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance.
- First point of contact for payroll queries.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, awards, and regulations.
- Maintain employee data in Definitiv and manage multiple time capture systems.
- Monitor leave accruals and entitlements.
- Prepare payroll reports for workers compensation and payroll tax.

About you

- Proven experience with Definitiv (preferred).
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax, superannuation, and entitlements.
- Detail‑oriented, organised, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a drive for continuous improvement.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
