About the role
Data is at the heart of our decision-making, and we're looking for a skilled Data Engineer to help us harness its full potential. - Make sure our data experts have the data, tools, and places they need to do their roles.
- Find ways to make data tasks easier and faster by using automation, and help make our data systems run smoothly and cost-effectively.
- Help make sure we handle data properly and keep it safe, following best practices.
- Work with the RACQ tech team on new projects and when we release updates.
- This is a 21-month fixed-term contract.
About you
- Expertise in SQL for writing and optimizing complex queries.
- Working experience with AWS environments and services, with Redshift and S3 as a strong preference.
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Solid software development skills and a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrated ability to interpret requirements, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
- Proven ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Why join RACQ?
It is an exciting time to be part of RACQ as we continue our transformation towards better, smarter solutions that deliver more security and prosperity for Queenslanders. We are big enough to make a real difference in our community, yet small enough to nurture your professional and personal development.

At RACQ, we are passionate about building a diverse and inclusive workplace to create better outcomes for our employees and our members. We aim for our teams to be a true reflection of our communities and are committed to inclusion, particularly for people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, and those who may experience diversity or disability-related barriers in securing employment. Applicants from these and other diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. If you have any support or access requirements, please advise us at the time of applying.
