About the role

Join ACMI’s Programming team as a Project Curator to lead the curation and development of a major ACMI exhibition exploring puppetry on screen. Working closely with ACMI’s Director of Curatorial, Programming and Education, Head Curator, and Director of Exhibitions, Collections and Touring, this role liaises with a range of stakeholders on the delivery of an international museum standard exhibition for our audiences. This is a new part-time fixed term role reporting to the Head Curator.

What you’ll bring to the role

- Demonstrated experience in museology and film in contemporary exhibition contexts with excellent research, writing and professional proof-reading skills.

- Strong networks in national and international museums and film sectors, with a high level of experience loaning and adapting relevant material culture for inclusion in major exhibitions.

- The ability to discern and critique the qualities of screen arts and interactive installations, their operability and suitability in the context of an organisation’s objectives with the end goal of providing memorable experiences for diverse audiences.

What we offer

- Part-time fixed term 0.6 FTE (3 days a week), Grade 4.1 role (Nov 2025 – Dec 2026) with a starting salary of $97,955 pro rata plus super.

- A talented, committed and creative team of people with a passion for screen culture, technology and media, cultural diversity, and inspiring new forms of creativity in our communities. A museum and workspace that provides an exceptional space to collaborate with colleagues located in the heart of Melbourne in Federation Square (just a 5 min walk from Flinders Street station).
