Support Worker (Disability/Mental Health/AOD)

Utopia Care Pty Office is based at Sheidow Park, but we provide quality NDIS Core Support Services from Nurioopta to Victor Harbour. Start Date: 24/05/2020

Currently, we have various positions available for qualified and experienced Disability/Mental Health/AOD Support Workers. Please send your resume to tonysmith@utopiacare.com.au. We will respond to every application/enquiry.

Primary Role:

To provide enabling, domiciliary, and personal care assistance to individuals experiencing physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities in various settings including in-home, group situations, and community.

Location:

All South Australia Metropolitan Regions (North, East, South, West)

Main Duties:

- Follow organisation policies and procedures
- Report any incidents
- Guide participants in complaints and feedback processes
- Meet NDIS Code of Conduct requirements
- Implement and monitor support plans
- Maintain records of client progress
- Strengthen participants' ability to coordinate supports
- Support participants to travel and use public transport independently
- Transport to therapy, appointments, or day options
- Assist participants in active community, social, and civic activities
- Support group-based community activities
- Build client self-image and confidence
- Assess clients to determine ongoing needs
- Assist in day option activities
- Drive a 12-seater vehicle
- Assist with outdoor games and sports
- Observe and support behaviour
- Assist with accommodation and tenancy obligations
- Perform basic hygiene tasks such as bathing
- Assist with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and laundry
- Take participants shopping
- Complete chores
- Administer medication
- Clean rooms
- Follow policies and procedures
- Participate in all training
- Perform other duties as required

Experience:

Minimum 6 months (negotiable)

- Caring nature
- Ability to self-supervise and remain calm

Note: The office is based at Sheidow Park, but services are provided from Nurioopta to Victor Harbour.
