About the position

MLC School is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Facilities Officer, who will work with event staff, assisting with the planning and delivery of key events. A number of events and activities requiring support occur outside regular school hours.

Role description

The purpose of the position is to co-ordinate a wide range of repairs, minor project works and maintenance of buildings. The role also provides some back up, technical assistance and support to the Assistant Facilities Manager and Head of Facilities. The Facilities Officer provides an outstanding level of service to the School undertaking varied requests as required.

About you

You possess a broad and extensive repertoire of skills to be able to cope with a variety of maintenance issues. You have handyman capabilities, an ability to use a variety of tools, and are able to work at various school locations including at heights. You have previous hands-on facilities officer or events set up experience or trade qualifications in a relevant discipline.

Selection Criteria

- Experience in construction, building maintenance or maintenance industries (mandatory)
- Ability to use power tools and work at heights
- Experience in the identification and mitigation of WHS risks in a school environment.
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships within the Facilities Team and wider School community.
- Work Health and Safety qualifications.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
