About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an Electrical Plant Technician to join the operations and maintenance team of a large-scale, gas-fired power station in regional NSW. This 640MW facility plays a critical role in supporting grid stability and fast-start generation for Australia’s energy market.

As a key member of the onsite team, you will help ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant through hands-on maintenance, system operation, and compliance with HSE standards. This is a permanent role offering long-term career development, supportive leadership, and exposure to best-in-class power generation systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform electrical maintenance on plant equipment
- Monitor and operate DCS and T3000 systems
- Contribute to plant shutdowns, outages, and small projects
- Use CMMS tools for scheduling and documenting work orders
- Comply with all HSE protocols, permits, and procedures
- Supervise contractors and participate in an on-call roster
- Troubleshoot and resolve faults in a fast-paced environment
- Support continuous improvement and change initiatives onsite

Qualifications

- Electrical trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience in power generation, heavy industrial or complex plant environments
- Proficiency with DCS systems and permit-to-work systems
- CMMS knowledge (SAP preferable)
- Proven experience in conducting incident investigations
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
