Job Description

What we are looking for

We are seeking a talented individual with prior experience in System Administration and/or Cyber Security to join our team and take charge of enhancing and administering our development environment, systems' security, network infrastructure and cloud third-party services. The ideal candidate will:

- Have a strong interest in usingthe latest technology to create robust cyber secure environments, comprehensive knowledge of cyber security best practices, strong system administration skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Enjoy implementing or refining tools, systems and processes to enable effective use of IT services and to empower engineering teams.
- Enjoy technical challenges, problem solving and wantto keep improving both individually and as part of the team.

What you will do

- Contribute to Defence projects through application of network, security and IT administration skills to manage Cloud systems and on-premise software development infrastructure.
- Implement effective systems and tools on Windows and Linux to provide engineering staff with a positive developer experience (DX) through:

- Configuring and managing Microsoft Intune to ensure efficient device management, policy configuration and application deployment.

- Establishing and configuring Windows/Linux servers and DevOps tooling for software development and application deployment.

- Troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and resolutions in networking, endpoint and policy configuration.

- Ensure the effective management of the information technology environment through:

- Design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity and optimal performance.

- Manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

- Improve and uplift the cybersecurity maturity of the company through:

- Developing and implementing cyber security policies, procedures, and controls to protect against internal and external threats.

- Conducting regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and security audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.

- Supporting continuous monitoring activities both locally and with third-party providers.

- Overseeing or conducting backup and recovery tasks.

- Administer cloud software-as-a-service tools such as M365, Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and HR/finance tooling.

Swordfish is headquartered on North Terrace in the Adelaide CBD with our teams operating from both the CBD and our client's sites.

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential skills and experience

- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, coupled with effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Solid experience and understanding of network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching, VLAN configuration and firewall policies.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.
- Administration of Linux servers (Ubuntu, NixOS (desirable))
- Experience using Microsoft Defender to monitor endpoints and respond to vulnerability alerts and expedite critical updates.
- Experience implementing and supporting Microsoft End User Computing technologies including Intune, SCCM, and Autopilot.
- Experience with Active Directory/Azure AD: Manage devices identity, users, & groups.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, device group policies and configuration profiles: Create and maintain group policies and configuration profiles through Active Directory and Intune.

Desired skills and experience

- Experience working within the Defence or government industry.
- Understanding of other cybersecurity frameworks such as Essential 8, NIST or Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model (C2M2).
- Atlassian Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket) administration.
- General programming/scripting skills and Git.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Information Technology or related field,or equivalent experience.
