Raytheon Australia, a trusted defence technology partner, is leading the modernisation of the Australian Defence Air Traffic System (ADATS) through the implementation of system upgrades across RAAF sites nationwide. This critical upgrade program will ensure continued operational excellence of Australia's military air traffic control capabilities. As we embark on this transformative journey, we're seeking a talented Publications Writer to join our project team.

As the Publications Writer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation that supports the successful implementation and ongoing operation of the system upgrades. Working within our integrated project team, you'll create clear, accurate, and compliant documentation that bridges the gap between complex technical systems and their end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of technical publications and ILS documentation supporting the implementation of system upgrades across multiple RAAF sites
- Create and update training materials, operational procedures, and maintenance workflows for system operators and maintainers
- Collaborate with technical teams to document system modifications, integration approaches, and operational procedures
- Support security certification and accreditation processes through precise documentation
- Maintain configuration management documentation and coordinate with stakeholders to validate technical content
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Technical Writing
- Demonstrated experience in technical documentation for complex systems integration projects
- Strong understanding of ILS principles and documentation requirements
- Experience working within structured documentation frameworks and configuration management systems
- Proven ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation
Desirable attributes:
- Experience in defence technology or aerospace industries
- Familiarity with air traffic control systems or voice communication technologies
- Experience with COTS integration documentation
- Knowledge of Commonwealth documentation standards and security requirements
Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at
