About the Shire of Victoria Plains

The Shire Victoria Plains is in the central wheatbelt of Western Australia 153 kms north-east of Perth and just 75 minutes from Ellenbrook. Traditionally a prosperous farming district, the shire is home to unique attractions such as Australia’s only Monastic Town, New Norcia, and a European Space Agency (ESA) ground station. The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Customer Service Officer to join our friendly team based in Calingiri. This role is a great opportunity to support the community while gaining experience in local government administration.

Key Responsibilities

- Delivering prompt, professional customer service for enquiries and payments.

- Cash handling duties, including receipting, balancing and end-of-day banking.

- Maintaining accurate records/filing systems in accordance with established procedures.

- Register electronic records using CouncilFirst Records.

- Provide support for Department of Transport (Training will be provided).

- Managing council housing and rental property records.

- Oversee the shire gymnasium.

- Maintain accurate cemetery records.

- High degree of personal integrity.

- Professionalism and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive matters.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Flexible approach to tasks.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.

- Current C class drivers’ licence.

Benefits

- Salary will be based on LGO Award 2021, plus 12% Guarantee Super and an additional 6.5% subject to co-contribution option.
