Our client, BUTCHER CUTS & CO PTY LTD trading as Butcher Cuts & Co, is seeking to employ multiple full-time Butchers for its retail butchery located at Springwood Mall. Butcher Cuts & Co operates a well-established retail butchery at Springwood Mall in Springwood, QLD, servicing a steady local customer base with a strong focus on fresh product, consistent quality, and personalised service. The roles are ongoing, on-site positions forming part of the business’s core operational workforce.

The positions offer a salary range of AUD 75,000 to AUD 85,000 per annum plus superannuation, with remuneration negotiable based on skills and experience.

Job tasks and responsibilities:
- Preparing meat for sale by removing bones, trimming fat and cutting, mincing and grinding meat to shape and size for display or as ordered.
- Preparing crumbed cuts of meat and marinating, seasoning and curing special cuts.
- Selecting and preparing meat to produce smallgoods.
- Operating machines to grind, mix, mince and tenderise meat, making seasonings and pickles by mixing spices, salt and other ingredients.
- Operating sausage-filling machines, smoking chambers, and cooking kettles and vats.
- Providing informed guidance to customers on the suitability and best culinary uses of different cuts of meat.
- Maintaining a sanitary work environment according to FDA regulations.
- Educating customers on meat selection to align with their preferences, intended dishes, and the specific events they are catering for, ensuring informed choices and a tailored purchasing experience.
- Inspecting meats and other related products brought for processing or sales to ensure they are safe for consumption.
- Maintaining strict cleanliness of meat preparation counters to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety compliance.
- Using and properly handling butchery tools to cut, grind, tie, and prepare meats for customers.
- Arranging and merchandising meat displays in line with product type, promotional cycles, and seasonal offerings to maximise presentation and sales impact.
- Preparing and packaging meat products in varied weight ranges, applying accurate labelling, and finalising products in line with retail and food safety standards.

To be considered for this role, you should:
- Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) is preferred
- Be willing to relocate if you are interstate or in other cities.
- Be available on both days at weekends and be able to work split shifts.
- Have at least 2 years of work experience as a Butcher.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
