Lead the way in infrastructure excellence at Banyule CityCouncil.
As the Operations Infrastructure Coordinator you willprovide clear and visible leadership and coordination of Banyule’s roads,drainage, and infrastructure maintenance services, ensuring they are deliveredsafely, efficiently, and to a high standard that enhances community amenity,supports environmental sustainability, and aligns with Council’s strategicgoals.
This role is part of Banyule’s Leadership Network – you’llhave opportunities to grow your skills and experience of leadership in a LocalGovernment context and develop your skills as an organisational leader beyondyour role-based expertise.

At itsheart, this is a people leadership position – you will provide visible,effective leadership across drainage, road, and infrastructure maintenanceteams, building a positive, engaged, and high-performing workforce. You willalso ensure services are delivered safely and responsibly, with full complianceto the Road Management Plan, OH&S Act 2004, and other legislative andCouncil requirements. What you’ll bring/what we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (orrelated discipline) with extensive experience leading the delivery of roadinfrastructure and drainage maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead amulti-disciplinary workforce, supporting staff performance and development in apositive environment, with an ability to foster teamwork, resolve conflictconstructively, and motivate staff to perform at their best.
- Proven experience in managing service delivery,projects, contracts, and budgets.
- Ability to align services with Council’sstrategic objectives and translate plans into effective operational outcomes.
- Track record in driving continuous improvementand responding flexibly to changing demands.
- Highly developed verbal and writtencommunication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and presentations.
- Skilled in negotiation, consultation, andengaging diverse stakeholders to build cooperation and achieve solutions.
