Finance Business Partner - 6-Month Contract
Location: Sydney (Hybrid flexibility)

We're seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join a high-performing team on a 6-month contract. This role has opened up due to changes in the team structure and offers the opportunity to step into a business-critical position during a transitional period.

The Opportunity:
In this role, you'll take ownership of the financial processes for a key operating entity and play a pivotal part in its transition to new ownership. You'll partner closely with both finance and business stakeholders, ensuring smooth month-end delivery, insightful reporting, and seamless audit support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the full month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare management reports and deliver variance analysis with commercial insights
- Partner with operational leaders to understand business drivers and support decision-making
- Build financial models and forecasts to support planning and performance reviews
- Provide advice on accounting processes and assist in handover to new ownership
- Support internal and external audit requirements
- Identify and recommend process improvements across finance and operations

Key Focus Areas:

- End-to-end month-end accounting, reporting, and analysis
- Providing financial advice to stakeholders and supporting business decisions
- Supporting audits and ensuring smooth handover of processes during transition
- Driving process improvements and maintaining strong financial controls

About You:

- CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) - part or full
- Strong month-end accounting experience (journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting)
- Proven ability to liaise with stakeholders across finance and operations
- ERP experience (SAP S/4 Hana preferred)
