Position Information
Murrumbidgee Regional High School - Griffith is a secondary school in Griffith with an enrolment of 590 students. The enrolment profile includes 107 students with Aboriginal Heritage, 143 with a Pasifika background, and many students from EAL/D backgrounds. The school includes a support unit with 3 classes, the Riverina Suspension Centre - Griffith, and a Clontarf Academy to support Aboriginal boys and an Aboriginal Learning and Engagement Centre. The MASE Academy provides education across NSW with partner primary and secondary schools.
The school shares linkages with Murrumbidgee High School – Wade. A Senior Cross School Coordinator supports legacy benefits from the merge. The school aims to continue improving academic performance and supporting students through strong academic, cultural, sporting and vocational pathways. Griffith is a regional city offering diverse industries, culture, sport, and services, including an airport, hospital, wineries, and higher education and research opportunities.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Physical Development/Health/Physical Education and Community and Family Studies.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning.
- Ability to contribute to sport and extra-curricular activities, including gala days, carnivals, and knockout competitions.
- Effective classroom management to create an engaging, inclusive environment with high expectations.
Conditions
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus is paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 to $8,000 is available for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process concurrently with this opportunity.
