Job Description - Machinist - Mechanical (264770)# | | || --- | --- || Machinist - Mechanical-264770 **Job Opportunity: Fitter Machinist - UGL Manufacturing & Maintenance, Broadmeadow, Newcastle NSW** UGLs Manufacturing & Maintenance division in Broadmeadow, Newcastle, is seeking skilled **Fitter Machinists** to join our rail component overhaul team. This role is offered on a **permanent, full-time basis** under UGLs Newcastle Operations Enterprise Agreement, with a **9-day fortnight** schedule, providing every second Friday off. **Commencing on dayshift with some requirement to complete afternoon shifts** * **Dayshift** - Monday-Thursday 5:30 am - 2:30 pm, and 5:30 am - 1:30 pm on working Fridays * **Afternoon shift** - Monday - Friday 2.30 pm - 11.00 pm. **Role Overview** As a **Fitter Machinist**, you’ll work in our rail component overhaul line, focusing on component overhaul tasks along with general workshop duties. **Key Responsibilities** * **Machining Duties**: Machining bogie axles on CNC Lathes for requalification to desired specifications. Operate CNC vertical horizontal boring machines, pressing functions, other general machinist duties as required and general crane operations. * **Quality Control**: Inspecting and interpreting drawings/specifications, determining manufacturing methods, and ensuring standards are met. * **Safety and Teamwork**: Commitment to safety practices, teamwork, and collaboration. **About You** * **Qualifications**: Relevant Australian Trade qualification as a Fitter/Machinist. * **Experience**: Proven experience in metal machining and fabrication.
