Here at HSBC Australia we have an opportunity for an Assistant Manager of Investigative Reporting to join us to deliver HSBC’s Financial Crime Investigations, Investigative Reporting processes and procedures in line with local regulatory requirements and internal framework. The role is responsible for conducting high quality investigations on high risk and high priority AML CTF matters and fulfilling the regulatory filing of Suspicious Matter Reporting (SMR) obligations on behalf of HSBC Australia by conducting thorough review and analysis of triggers events and completing the submission of SMRs to the regulator in line with internal and external service level agreements.
The role holder maintains and executes delegated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) duties in relation to SMR filing and works collaboratively with internal stakeholders at a country, regional and global level. The role will support the Manager, Investigative Reporting in the delivery of strategic initiatives, Management Information (MI) and will be considered as the Manager Investigative Reporting delegate during periods of leave or as required.
This is a hybrid role, which will encompass some work from home as well as some work from our Barangaroo office.
Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of HSBC’s Financial Crime Investigations, Investigative Reporting processes and procedures in line with local regulatory requirements and internal framework
- Prioritisation and completion of cases in line with a risk-based approach, defined procedures and KPIs in accordance with agreed standard reporting requirements and service levels.
- Facilitate and coordinate training and feedback sessions across onshore and offshore teams to drive the quality of investigative outcomes and skillset of staff.
- Execution of MLRO delegate duties in relation to SMR decisioning in line with internal processes and regulatory obligations.
- Identify and lead opportunities for improvements across processes and procedures to support the delivery of streamlined and efficient outcomes.
- Identify, escalate and support in the remediation of identified control weaknesses in a timely manner.
- ICA ML, ACAMS qualification or university degree in AML/CTF an advantage.
