Overview

The Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician will help provide the highest quality of care. The ideal candidate will be board certified in nuclear medicine and have experience working with a variety of patients. The Consultant will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, interpreting images, and providing consultation to referring physicians. The nuclear medicine physician will maintain a high level of patient satisfaction by delivering compassionate care.

Our client is the designated specialist referral centre for the Gippsland region, delivering a comprehensive range of medical services to the community. It is located about two hours’ drive from Melbourne CBD and operates as a specialist referral and trauma centre with a teaching hospital environment.

Responsibilities

- Perform nuclear medicine procedures and interpret corresponding images.
- Provide consultation to referring physicians.
- Maintain high patient satisfaction through compassionate care.
- Participate in inpatient management of General Medicine patients.
- Contribute to the on-call physician roster as agreed; role split between General Medicine and Nuclear Medicine responsibilities.

Qualifications

- Board-certified in nuclear medicine.
- Experience with a variety of patient populations.
- Eligibility for Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Willingness to participate in the on-call roster.

Salary and benefits are described in the EBA; a range of options within the package is available.
