The Role
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, in this 12-Month Contract, you’ll shape and execute strategic plans that build trust in our organisation and brands. You’ll lead a team of communications professionals and collaborate across departments to deliver high-impact communications aligned with our values, culture, and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Communications & Planning: Lead the development and delivery of an integrated communications strategy across internal, external and digital channels that supports business priorities and strengthens Sanitarium’s reputation.
- Media Relations & Press Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets and influencers to promote and protect Sanitarium’s people, products and purpose
- Corporate Affairs & Stakeholder Relations: Strengthen relationships with key partners, community groups and industry bodies, driving impactful CSR reporting, advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
- Issues & Crisis Management: Lead proactive planning and responsive communications to manage reputational issues, ensuring clear, calm and values-aligned messaging in high-pressure situations.
- Internal & External Communications: Deliver engaging, purpose-led communications that connect and inspire employees while amplifying Sanitarium’s story externally through media, PR and digital channels.
- Content & Messaging Oversight: Oversee compelling content creation and ensure a consistent brand voice and editorial standard across all corporate brand communication touchpoints.
- Measurement & Leadership: Track communication effectiveness, champion continuous improvement, and lead a collaborative, high-performing team delivering impact across ANZ.
About You
You’re more than a communications expert, you’re a connector, a storyteller, and a culture builder. You bring emotional intelligence and a deep understanding of how to engage people through meaningful narratives that reflect purpose and values. You thrive in dynamic environments, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and you’re comfortable navigating ambiguity with resilience and clarity. You intuitively build trust across diverse teams and stakeholders, and you’re motivated by the opportunity to shape how employees experience and live an organisation’s philosophy every day. Your passion for purpose-led work is evident in everything you do, and you’re ready to lead with creativity, integrity, and impact.
- 8–10 years’ experience in communications, PR, marketing, or related fields
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in CSR, internal communications, and employee engagement
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or similar
