We have an opportunity for Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant working as part of our lifestyle team, delivering person-centered activities that enhance the wellbeing and quality of life for residents.

This is a permanent part time position working 1000-1700 Monday to Friday.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering an engaging and personalised leisure and lifestyle program. You will work closely with individual residents or in groups to assess their interests, needs, and goals, and support them to participate in a range of activities to suit their preferences

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver a variety of recreational activities for residents (including sports, games, arts, crafts, excursions, etc.)
- Assist residents to participate in personalised leisure and lifestyle programs tailored to individual preferences and goals.
- Support residents to exercise choice and independence.
- Provide guidance and support to residents during activities, ensuring a fun, safe, and engaging environment.
- Communicate with nursing staff to assess residents' needs and interests, providing recommendations based on their lifestyle and abilities.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in activities.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure all aspects of resident care are met.
- Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available for activities.

Experience and Skills:

- Previous experience working in a similar role.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with people in a compassionate and positive manner.
- A genuine passion for working with older people.
- Creative and resourceful, with the ability to deliver engaging activities tailored to individual preferences.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Empathy, patience, and a respectful approach to working with older people.
