Job Description
The Risk & Safety Advisor role sits within the Risk, Compliance & Assurance directorate and plays a critical role embedding strong, consistent risk and governance practices and culture across the organisation. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective risk management policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Provide advice and support on workplace health and safety matters to all staff.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Deliver training programs to promote safety awareness and best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to address safety and wellbeing concerns.
- Stay updated on legislative changes and ensure organisational compliance.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Risk & Safety Advisor should have:
- Relevant qualifications in risk management, workplace health and safety, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational or human services context.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing effective solutions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
