Job Description
HammondCare pastoral care volunteers support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly people living in their homes. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church in Lake Macquarie and the wider Hunter area, supplementing and complementing the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Support people to meet their spiritual needs.
Skills required for this role
- High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
- Pastoral Care training such as Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or completion of HammondCare’s Spiritual Care Series.

Requirements
18 years or older.
National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
Availability for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, with visits weekly or fortnightly depending on your schedule.
