Assistant Accountant | 2-Month Contract | Redfern

We're working with a busy, fast-paced property business looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a 2-month contract. You'll be stepping into a crucial role with plenty of variety and ownership-supporting the Financial Controller directly and covering key responsibilities while they're on leave in July.

What you'll be doing:
This role has a strong AP focus, including processing 100-200 invoices per month, preparing and matching purchase orders, and supporting with Accounts Receivable, including cash allocation and reconciliations (minimal collections work involved).
You'll also assist with bank reconciliations and provide payroll support (for a headcount of 25), with training provided if needed.
As the sole support to the FC, you'll also play a part in month-end tasks and need to be comfortable stepping up while they're away.

What we're looking for:

- Proven experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Solid skills in Xero (essential)
- Confident use of Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
- A quick learner with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently
- Industry experience in construction or real estate is a bonus but not required
