About the role

This role will commence in the Adult Acute and Older Persons Acute units; however this position can rotate to work in the Male or Female Medium Secure rehabilitation units. It is a rotational role working across a varying caseload at the Mental Health Hospital at Bloomfield Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MHDA).

The Occupational Therapy department at the Bloomfield Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol Service is a friendly and dynamic team which consists of 5 Senior Clinicians, 4 Junior Clinicians, a large number of Allied Health Assistants as well as Diversional Therapists and an Education Advisor. We work as part of a large multidisciplinary team that is committed to providing all consumers with holistic, evidence based care that focuses on patient safety and engagement.

We have a strong focus on supervision and CPD, with regular team meetings and training opportunities provided.

We are committed to growing our own leaders within our team with opportunities to move into senior roles with support and encouragement when therapists are ready. Our department is led by managers who believe in the importance of flexible work practise and ensuring staff have in place a good work life balance which improves on staff satisfaction and team culture.
