We are seeking a qualified Metal Machinist/Fitter and Turner to join our growing team at LaserBond. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional lathes, interpreting engineering drawings, and using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, gauges, and verniers. You will work both independently and collaboratively within a high-performing team, ensuring exceptional attention to detail, quality workmanship, and a strong focus on safety. Task & responsibilities

- Set up and operate conventional lathes to produce precision components

- Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings

- Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.) to maintain accuracy

- Work independently and as part of a collaborative team

- Maintain a strong commitment to quality standards and workplace safety

- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in processes and practices

Qualification & experience

- Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner or Fitter Machinist

- Proven experience operating conventional lathes in a workshop/manufacturing environment

- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and machining processesProficient in the use of precision measuring equipment

- High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality

- Ability to work safely and effectively in a team-based environment

- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
