A leading engineering consultancy is expanding its team and seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to be based in Wollongong. They will provide technical leadership and act as the client contact for key projects, undertake site inspections, assessing structural defects and defining upgrades, guide and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with colleagues in other offices, and contribute to building the reputation of the practice through quality project delivery. Responsibilities - Deliver structural design and load rating projects, particularly in mining, ports, marine, and transport infrastructure (bridges, roads, rail) - Provide technical leadership and act as the client contact for key projects - Undertake site inspections, assessing structural defects and defining upgrades - Guide and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with colleagues in other offices - Contribute to building the reputation of the practice through quality project delivery What we seek in you - Degree qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering - 10+ years’ industry experience with exposure to mining, marine and transport structures - Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g. SpaceGass, Strand7) - Strong technical skills in design, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and project management - Site inspection and defect identification experience - CPEng (Chartered Professional Engineer) or working towards - Current Australian working rights and driver’s licence - EA membership and fluent English communication skills Bonus Points Experience in remediation, durability engineering or cathodic protection will be highly regarded.
