About the role
The Transmission Lines Construction team are seeking a qualified Construction Manager with experience delivering a range of transmission infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for planning, managing and completing projects in a safe, efficient, timely and cost-effective manner through the diligent management of people, subcontractors and resources. You will actively provide leadership and guidance to construction crews, as well as coordinating day to day operations, managing budgets and planning / scheduling of work.
Reporting to the Manager, Transmission Lines Construction, your days will include:
- Lead and manage the planning and delivery of allocated projects
- Develop, maintain, and report on project schedules
- Provide technical and constructability input during design and tender stages
- Manage WHS, Environmental, Cultural Heritage, and Quality requirements for the team and subcontractors
- Build and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships to ensure timely delivery
- Collaborate with project managers and partners on variations and project completion
- Ensure daily reporting and effective communication of project updates
- Anticipate and address potential risks or delays to maintain delivery timelines
- Champion a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement on site
- Ensure timely completion, review, and submission of ITP/ITC documentation
This role is based in Sydney, but our team is often working away on project construction sites across NSW and interstate. Rosters vary depending on the requirements of different projects, and as Construction Manager you will be required on site as per project rosters.
About you
You will bring:
- Extensive experience managing the construction and delivery of transmission line projects from planning through to commissioning
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage crews and subcontractors
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing WHS, Environmental, Cultural Heritage, and Quality systems in line with statutory and client standards
- Skilled in project planning, scheduling, resourcing, cost control, and reporting to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
- Confidence to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and clients, including network owners, landholders and regulatory bodies
- Hands‑on experience with ITP/ITC documentation, commissioning requirements, and project close‑out processes
- A Trade Certificate, or qualifications in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
