Join our Melbourne Design leadership team as a Landscape Architect Director. In this pivotal role you will steer key projects, champion design excellence, and nurture the growth and development of our talented team through effective coaching and mentoring.
Collaborating closely with other Directors and Associate Directors, this position offers a unique opportunity to enhance and expand our already thriving business at Urbis.
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional leadership, commercial acumen, negotiation prowess, people management, and communication skills, along with a proven ability to secure new business. This role is instrumental in driving the profitable growth and development of our Melbourne Landscape Architecture offering.
You will:
- Nurture and develop individual staff members through effective coaching and mentoring, fostering a culture of collaboration, design quality, and excellence in landscape design that reflects the Urbis brand.
- Support the delivery of strategic projects and national initiatives, while proactively identifying opportunities to engage and work collaboratively with colleagues from other business units to develop ‘whole-of-firm' service offerings.
- Develop proposals, tenders, and submissions for potential projects, and build strategic relationships to enhance the profile of the design practice in the Victorian market.
- Actively maintain and build trusted relationships with internal and external clients, key partners, stakeholders, and industry peers, identifying and generating new work to ensure sustained profitable business performance.
- Achieve revenue targets through strong service delivery and project management, assisting with forecasting, project budgeting, risk, and financial management.
- Contribute to the management of the financial and commercial requirements of the Business Unit, including negotiating fee and sub-contractor arrangements, and demonstrating strong practice management skills.
About you:
We are looking for talented professionals who are purpose-driven, collaborative, and thrive in high-performing environments. You will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline.
- 8+ years relevant experience, ideally gained in a consultancy environment
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team
- Proven track record of building new clients and business in the local market
