Overview

As a Cafe Manager at Guru's Cafe Wodonga, you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. You will manage all aspects of cafe operations, including menu planning, staff training, inventory control, and customer engagement, while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

- Plan and develop menus in consultation with Chefs
- Arrange purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels and financial transactions
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
- Confer with customers to assess satisfaction with meals and service
- Select, train, and supervise waiting and kitchen staff
- Plan and organize special functions and events
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies
- Manage inventory and control costs
- Handle customer complaints and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Oversee reservations, greet guests, and assist in taking orders when needed
- Monitor and maintain quality standards for food and beverage service
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Prepare staff rosters and manage payroll • Conduct regular staff performance evaluations
- Stay updated on industry trends and implement innovations as appropriate
- Salary Range: 75,000 to 85,000 Plus Superannuation
- Work Type: Full Time

Requirements

- Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cafe management (or 3 years in a similar role)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and practices
- Proficiency in point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills
- Passion for food service and customer satisfaction
