About therole

The Drainage MaintenanceTechnician will be responsible for maintaining Councils underground drainagenetwork. This work will include but not be limited to, jetting of theunderground drainage network using Councils specialised equipment, repairingsections of Council's drainage network, replacement of pit lids and surroundsand the operation of Councils CCTV units to inspect and investigate theunderground drainage network. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, drivenand engage in effective interaction and communication with various levelswithin Council and external to Council. The successful candidate will beinvolved in a variety of drainage projects. The successful candidate will alsohave solid time management and organisational skills.

Skills andexperience

- Operation and maintenance of specialised drainage plant andequipment to clean and maintain underground drains, pits and easements.
- Repair and replacement of sections of the Councils underground drainagenetwork as required.
- Confined Space Accreditation.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to gain co-operation and assistance from members of thepublic and other employees in the delivery of assigned tasks.
- Thorough knowledge of the associated technology and maintenanceoperations, practices and procedures relating to underground maintenance, piperepair and construction.
- Medium Rigid truck licence.
- Ability to read drainage plans and diagrams.
