Director of Supply Chain and Operations

AQ1 Systems is a Tasmanian technology company exporting advanced monitoring systems worldwide. Our products combine digital, electronic and mechanical components, supported by specialist suppliers and local offices across Asia and Latin America. With a growing international team, we are entering a new phase of expansion, scaling systems, strengthening supply resilience, and bringing discipline to every stage of planning, assembly and delivery.
This new leadership role reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the CTO and CFO. Your mandate is end to end: establish clear accountability from suppliers through assembly to delivery, lift ERP discipline including MRP so data and BOM integrity drive decisions, stabilise inventory, and set a monthly S&OP rhythm that aligns the business and improves customer outcomes. You will also help build reliable supply in Latin America as AQ1 transitions from distributor to direct sales.
Ongoing, you will bring structure to assembly logistics, embed continuous improvement with suppliers, support new product introduction, and ensure logistics execution and trade compliance keep pace with global demand. You will balance design ambition with manufacturability and cost while operating calmly and constructively across CEO, CTO and CFO interfaces.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Lead end-to-end supply chain performance in a global technology exporter
- Establish clear accountability from suppliers through assembly to delivery
- Lift ERP discipline including MRP so data and BOM integrity drive decisions
- Stabilise inventory
- Set a monthly S&OP rhythm that aligns the business and improves customer outcomes
- Bring structure to assembly logistics

You are a supply chain leader with 10 to 15 years in complex product environments that combine electronics and mechanical content. You are ERP fluent, commercially disciplined, and known for improving OTD, lead times and inventory health. Just as importantly, you are curious, practical, and calm under pressure, able to frame trade-offs clearly and keep things moving. International supply and tariff experience will be highly regarded.
Hobart base is preferred, with FIFO considered only in exceptional cases where a strong presence plan is in place. International travel to Asia and Latin America is expected. An attractive salary package is offered, reflecting the seniority and impact of the role.
