Role, Purpose & Impact

Drive architectural excellence and shape the future of digital queuing as Principal Software Engineer at Queue-it. Deliver robust backend services and scalable solutions for high-impact, real-time systems. Ensure reliability, performance, and security across distributed environments. Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and champion best practices in modern software architecture. Collaborate closely with product, data, and operations teams to deliver solutions that scale. Lead code reviews, troubleshooting, and clear technical documentation.

Responsibilities

- Set technical vision and ensure robust, scalable, secure backend solutions.

- Design and operate cloud-native systems.

- Architect and maintain real-time data streaming pipelines.

- Collaborate across teams to align technology with business goals.

- Mentor engineers and drive best practices.

- Ensure high availability, performance, and security.

- Uphold standards for code quality, testing, and documentation.

- Lead process improvements and troubleshoot production systems.

What You’ll Bring

- Extensive experience in backend engineering and technical leadership.

- Proven ability to architect and scale complex, distributed systems in cloud environments.

- Deep understanding of event-driven architectures, microservices, and modern DevOps practices.

- Demonstrated experience guiding teams through technical challenges and strategic decisions.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Track record of mentoring engineers and elevating team performance.

- Experience shaping CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure strategy.

- Exposure to frontend architecture and modern frameworks.

- Deep expertise in C# and .NET.

- Extensive experience with TypeScript / JavaScript.

- Strong background in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

- Expertise in monitoring, observability, and security for distributed systems.

- Knowledge of data engineering, ETL pipelines, and multiple programming paradigms.

About the office(s)

In this role you will be working in Vesterbro in the heart of Copenhagen. This is Queue‑it’s largest office and global headquarters. Our space is designed to support both collaboration and focus, with an open‑plan layout, quiet rooms, and dedicated areas for deep work. For fun and downtime, we have a ping pong table, foosball, and regular social activities. You’ll also enjoy daily snacks, fresh fruit, great coffee, and access to a subsidized canteen in the building.
